Things of Note Recently:
+ I've been spending more time in the car lately-- driving to and from various OT offices, meeting friends for food, running errands for the parentals-- and I've found that people are the worst. I've always said that I don't like driving, not because I'm worried about something I might do, but because I'm worried about all the other people on the road. And this extra time behind the wheel just confirms that notion. Holymoly, have I dealt with some crazies out there these last few days. *shakes head* I mean, really. Also. Who times those street lights. O.o
+ One of the things I like about volunteering at an OT office that sees lots of older people is that everyone has grand stories. These people have lived, I tell you. I'm talking gunshot wounds from civil wars in third world countries, living abroad in Europe for a decade, moving all over the United States with young kids in tow, working at a state prison, training tigers. Those in for treatment for gradually debilitating diseases always make me wonder what they were like when they were my age, before these medical things all began to take effect. I love talking with these folks. They're fascinating.
+ I've looked up info for the first thing on my 23 List {take an aerial silks and a barre class}. According to this blogpost, there are three circus/aerial places in Oakland, which is not super close-by, but it's doable. I didn't get the chance to check out their websites in-depth, but it's nice to know I've got options. In terms of the barre classes, there are several places to the east of me that I plan on looking into. The problem right now is that because I'm not working and bringing in an income, I feel funny paying money to take a class "just for fun." So we'll see when this thing gets crossed off the list. But hey! At least I've done some Googling-- it's a step in the right direction!
+ My mother and I are almost done with the third season of Leverage. Seriously, great show.
+ With the volunteering eight hours a day thing going on at the moment, I've actually been getting sleepy at normal people hours. It's weird. But probably much, much better for me than nightowling all the time. So we'll roll with it.
I think that's it for now. I still need to write about going out to lunch last Sunday with the high school friends. But that'll take more concentration that I've got at the moment. With the OT application due this upcoming Monday, it'll be pretty quiet around here for a bit longer. If you want, you can always see what's going on with me via Instagram and Twitter! (:
